Scott Hagerstrom
President
Scott’s extensive experience in grassroots organizing paired with his strategic understanding of both policy and political battlefields, uniquely positions him to build out an authentic grassroots movement.
In 2015, Scott delivered a crushing 80-20 defeat to a proposed $1.9 billion tax hike on Michigan families in his position as Director of Grassroots and Strategic Engagement with the Coalition Against Higher Taxes and Special Interest Deals ballot committee. As then-Michigan Director of Americans for Prosperity, Scott also played an instrumental role in key reforms necessary to turn Michigan’s economy around, including the 2012 passage of workplace freedom legislation.
Whether working to direct strategy in the Michigan House of Representatives or leading grassroots mobilization efforts, Scott’s 26-year-long career has been dedicated to the cause of personal economic freedom.
Scott learned the importance of sound economic policies early on when his family was forced to move from Downriver Detroit to rural Southwest Michigan to Indiana in pursuit of economic opportunity. Scott worked his way through high school and college, earning his B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He has four kids age 10 through 18.
Dr. Joni Jones
Secretary
A researcher, educator and healthcare provider, Joni’s life experience at the frontlines of medicine gives her firsthand perspective on how bureaucratic red tape and government interference can strangle American innovation.
Joni has been involved in the movement for economic freedom both as an independent grassroots activist and in official positions within the GOP party structure. As a founding member of the Constitutional Conservatives of America in Calhoun County, Joni advocated for returning government to its constitutional limits. Her positions within the GOP include precinct delegate, Calhoun County Republican Committee member and Republican State Committee member.
Currently the Assistant Director of Nursing Education at Pensacola State College, Joni holds both a PhD in measurement, research and evaluation, and a B.S. in Health Studies from Western Michigan University. She earned her Masters in Nursing from Wayne State University.
Allen Lowe
Treasurer
Described as “a legislator of deep convictions” even by those with whom he disagreed, Allen served as a Michigan State Representative for six years, serving the 105th district.
A lifelong resident of Michigan, Allen has been a teacher, school administrator and most recently retired from his position as manager of the Village of Roscommon.
Working, raising a family, and now retiring in Michigan, Allen understands firsthand the challenges facing Michigan’s economy. His experience within a small Michigan community and also in Lansing offers a unique perspective on public policy solutions.
Allen holds a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and undergraduate degrees from Kirtland Community College and Central Michigan University.
