Let’s Abolish The Michigan Income Tax

We know what you are saying, "but our income tax is only 4.25%, and I'm sure that the State relies on our tax dollars, we need some sort of income tax to survive." The first two part of those statements is true. Michigan's income tax is 4.25% and in 2014, Michigan received $8.75 billion dollars from income taxes. In fact, income taxes are 35.3% of Michigan's tax collections, an extremely high number. MIRS News Services has reported that the Department of Health & Human Services are proposing new regulations for tattoo artists and piercers in Michigan. Some of the new regulations include new rules for jewelry and what kind of material the jewelry must be made out of. Although MIRS News states that a lot of tattoo artists and piercers support these new rules, it is another example of government overreach. Roadside Drug Tests Are Not A Good Idea… Yet

Yesterday, the media group MLIVE reported that, "The Michigan State Police is working on plans to establish a pilot program for roadside drug testing." The new drug testing comes from legislation passed in 2013 after Barbara and Thomas Swift were killed by a tractor-trailer driver who had THC in his system. THC is the primary ingredient in marijuana and is responsible for the psychological aspects of the drug.
